Start by identifying three anchors: a gatherer engine, a builder engine, and a security engine. Your gatherers should love long routes; your builders should love repetitive crafting; your security roster should stabilize morale during night events.

Morale and food priority

  1. Cooked meals beat raw ingredients for stability.

Housing and storm weeks

Automation is not “more machines”—it is fewer decisions. Build short loops: input chest → processor → output chest near the workstation that consumes the item.
